Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

This policy explains how Ironshore Safety collects, uses, and protects your personal data. We keep it simple: we only collect what we need to respond to your enquiry, we don’t sell your data, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

1. Who we are

Ironshore Safety is a sole trader health and safety consultancy operated by Kane Davies, based in Braunton, North Devon.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, Kane Davies is the data controller for personal data collected through this website.

2. What data we collect

When you submit an enquiry through our contact form, we collect:

  • Your name
  • Your business name
  • The service you’re enquiring about
  • Any additional information you choose to include in your message

If you contact us directly by email or phone, we may also hold your email address or phone number as part of that correspondence.

We do not use cookies for tracking or analytics on this website, and we do not collect data passively through your visit.

3. Why we collect it

We collect your data solely to respond to your enquiry and provide the services you request. The legal basis for processing your data is:

  • Legitimate interest — to respond to your enquiry about our services
  • Contract performance — where you become a client, to fulfil the services agreed
  • Legal obligation — where we are required to retain records under applicable law

4. How we use your data

Your data is used only to:

  • Respond to your enquiry
  • Provide the health and safety services you have requested
  • Issue invoices and maintain financial records where required

We will not use your data to send you unsolicited marketing without your explicit consent.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Your data may be shared only in the following limited circumstances:

  • With our email provider (IONOS) as part of normal email infrastructure — subject to their own privacy policy
  • Where required by law, regulation, or a court order

6. How long we keep it

We retain enquiry data for up to 12 months in case you return with follow-up questions.

Where you become a client, we retain records relating to the services provided for 6 years from the date of the last transaction, in line with standard UK business and tax record-keeping requirements.

After these periods, data is securely deleted.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data where there is no legal reason to retain it
  • Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data
  • Objection — object to our processing of your data on the grounds of legitimate interest
  • Portability — request your data in a portable format

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at kane@ironshoresafety.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection.

ICO website: ico.org.uk
ICO helpline: 0303 123 1113
